Hyderabad: For nearly 13 years, recurring allergies controlled almost every aspect of Mr. S.K. Moinuddin’s life. Frequent skin rashes, breathing difficulty, swelling of the lips, chest discomfort, sneezing, cold-like symptoms and repeated allergy attacks made even routine activities difficult. Despite taking multiple medications, using inhalers and undergoing several medical procedures, his symptoms continued to recur.
Today, following personalised allergy evaluation and treatment at Aswini Allergy Centre, Hyderabad, Mr. Moinuddin says he walks five kilometres every day without using an inhaler and has remained free from allergy attacks for the past three months.
Living with Chronic Allergies Since 2013
Mr. Moinuddin, a businessman from Kolkata, West Bengal, first visited Aswini Allergy Centre on April 17, 2026, after years of struggling with uncontrolled allergies.
His symptoms included recurrent skin rashes, breathing difficulty, chest discomfort, swelling of the lips, nausea, constipation, frequent sneezing, cold-like symptoms and occasional episodes of near-fainting. Walking even short distances often left him breathless.
His medical history also revealed multiple surgeries, including nasal surgery, appendicectomy and gall bladder surgery in 2017. Despite long-term treatment with antihistamines, inhalers and other medications, he continued to experience recurrent allergy episodes with only temporary relief.
Comprehensive Allergy Evaluation Identified the Underlying Problem
At Aswini Allergy Centre, Dr. Vyakarnam Nageshwar carried out a detailed clinical evaluation, reviewing not only the patient’s medical history but also his family history across generations to understand the underlying immunological pattern.
The assessment revealed that the patient’s father had asthma, indicating an inherited allergic predisposition.
Based on the clinical findings, Dr. Nageshwar diagnosed the condition as chronic inflammatory disease secondary to longstanding allergies, where uncontrolled allergic inflammation had gradually become persistent over time.
The patient subsequently underwent comprehensive allergy testing to identify food and environmental triggers. He was counselled on allergen avoidance, lifestyle modifications and advised to begin allergen immunotherapy as part of his long-term management plan.

Significant Improvement Within Three Months
During his follow-up visit on July 28, 2026, Mr. Moinuddin described the remarkable changes he had experienced after following the personalised treatment plan.
“I had been suffering since 2013 and was admitted to the hospital twice because of my allergies. Doctors told me that specialised allergy treatment was available outside Kolkata, so we searched online and came to Aswini Allergy Centre in Hyderabad. I carefully followed the doctor’s advice and avoided the foods and environmental triggers that were identified. Within three months, my breathing improved significantly. Today, I walk five kilometres every day without using an inhaler, and I haven’t had a single allergy attack in the last three months. Earlier, I was taking three allergy tablets every day and still had symptoms. Those medicines also made me feel sleepy. Now I feel active, I can work comfortably, and I no longer suffer from daily allergies,” said Mr. Moinuddin.
Dr. Nageshwar also observed a marked improvement in the patient’s overall health and appearance during the review consultation.
Looking Beyond Symptom Control
This case highlights an important reality: chronic allergies are not always just about controlling symptoms. When allergic inflammation continues unchecked for years, it can significantly affect quality of life. Identifying the underlying allergic triggers, understanding the immune response and addressing the root cause through personalised treatment can help many patients achieve long-term improvement.
Treat the Root Cause, Not Just the Symptoms
According to Dr. Vyakarnam Nageshwar, Pulmonologist, Allergist and Immunologist at Aswini Allergy Centre, long-term allergy care should focus on identifying the underlying immunological cause rather than repeatedly suppressing symptoms.
“Whether the inflammation is allergic, autoimmune or metabolic, lasting improvement begins only after identifying and treating the root cause. Many patients continue taking medicines for years because the underlying immunological problem remains undiagnosed. Once the real cause is identified and patients follow personalised treatment along with appropriate lifestyle modifications, improvement often follows naturally.” — Dr. Vyakarnam Nageshwar.
